Lawn treatment for a healthy green lawn

The lawn now needs to have a good basis so that it can grow lush and green over the summer. Take a look at our lawn tips where you can find everything you need to know about fertilising with Organic CleanLawn.

Brown spots in the lawn

Lawns that have brown, almost circular, diffuse spots in winter are often suffering from snow mould. This fungal disease occurs in cold and humid weather, often after snowfall. Prevent this by aerating and adding sand to your lawn in the spring. Feed with a low-chloride potassium fertiliser if there is a potassium deficiency. The potassium fertiliser increases the lawn’s resistance to drought, frost, diseases and pests.

Moss in the lawn

Lawns slow down their growth over winter. However, moss continues to grow well even at lower temperatures and in poorer light conditions.

One reason why grass does not grow well and is unable to free itself from moss is a soil that is too acidic. Grass needs to have a pH value of 6 to 7. Quickly and easily check the pH of the soil with a pH soil testing kit. In order to obtain an overall impression of the lawn area, the required soil sample should be a mixture of several individual samples. To take a soil sample, cut out and lift a triangular block using a knife. Then use a spoon to evenly scrape away and collect the soil from the sides – from top to bottom. If the soil is excessively acidic, adjust the pH value for a healthy lawn using lime.

Remove moss on the lawn quickly and easily with CleanLawn Moss Control for Lawns Concentrate+. The product easily dissolves in water and can be applied with a watering can. CleanLawn Moss Control for Lawns Concentrate+ thoroughly and gently combats moss in the lawn. The product is bio-degradable. It does not lead to black discolouration of the treated area.
